I discovered climbing when I was living in Singapore. It gave me friends and community, and suddenly Singapore felt like home. Having had a fear of heights to the extent that the escalators in shopping centres were a challenge, taking up climbing was a huge step. The sense of empowerment that came with overcoming this makes any challenge achievable.
